I got the 3"x3" size. It's more like 3" wide x 1.25" tall. It's perfect for me, though - I live in a VERY conservative state and I think that on my car, it's big enough for the people who need to see it to see it, but not so big it will get my tires slashed or door keyed, lol. The colors are great - very vivid. I'm not sure how long it will last but I'm really happy with it.
